I have a 5 year old asphalt driveway that is starting to show wear and develop some small cracks. In general, I don't like the latex sealers that neighbors have used because it seems to me that they develop even more cracks in the sealer than they had in the driveway to begin with. In addition, I don't like the "painted on" look of these sealers. Finally, I don't know if it makes sense to put a latex sealer on an oil based (i.e. asphalt) driveway. Any comments or suggestions will be appreciated.
I have a home that was built in 1951 and I want to re-do the driveway to have it look the way it did in 1951 but previous owners have done a HORRIBLE asphalt driveway that I need to remove. How do I go about doing this (without hiring a professional)?
My driveway is very ugly because parts have sunken and cracked like an eggshell over the years. I tried to use repair sections of it with asphalt a few years ago, and that worked well, but it is coming off constantly and just makes my driveway look worse because it is not all repaired. Is there anyway I can repair it without the help of professionals? Any other tips or ideas are welcome, too.
So My driveway is wide enough for 2 cars. But where the cars sit the asphalt is starting to sink and crack. So 1. How do i fix the sinking? and 2. What do i need to repair the driveway? I was thinking maybe cut up the driveway where the wheels sit and then put a square cement patio stone under it. and filling the hole with asphalt. Or if anyone has any better ideas please let me know. Thanks
